Définition
La cellulite définit initialement une inflammation de tissu, quel qu'il soit, mais ce terme est principalement utilisé pour les inflammations concernant le tissu cutané.
Causes
Elle survient secondairement à une infection et se localise essentiellement au niveau de la face et des jambes. La cellulite se manifeste par une rougeur, augmentation de la chaleur locale et une douleur en regard.
Traitement
Elle peut être traitée par une antibiothérapie si nécessaire.
Peau d'orange
Le terme cellulite est utilisé souvent à tort pour parler de la stéatomérie : aussi appelée peau d'orange, il s'agit d'un dépôt de graisse survenant préférentiellement au niveau des fesses, des hanches ou des cuisses. Préjudice esthétique parfois, elle serait améliorée par les massages drainants et la liposuccion qui aspire ces graisses et constitue un potentiel recours.
