Water retention can be simply defined as swelling in the bodys tissues, caused by fluid collecting there instead of returning to the blood circulation. This problem has many different causes.

If you have a problem such as swollen legs, premenstrual water retention, puffy ankles, feet, hands or face, you will find explanations here.
