Before I get to that, however, a bit about my cutting diet:
-- Wake up
-- 10 grams BCAAs (branched chain amino acids) + 5 grams of L-Glutamine
-- Work out (essentially fasted; look into "Intermittent Fasting")
-- 20 to 25 grams of *unflavored* whey protein isolate, one scoop of Miracle Reds, half a banana, 1/4 cup of raw almonds and raw walnuts, one capful of Garden of Life Liquid Multivitamins, and one capsule of NutriGold Fish Oil, immediately post work out
-- 60 to 90 minutes later, 40 to 60 grams of *unflavored* micellar casein protein
-- 3 hours later, 20 to 25 grams of *unflavored* whey protein isolate + one scoop of Green Vibrance
-- 3 hours later, Dinner, which consists of high protein (between 50 and 75 grams), low carb (carbs only from vegetables), and moderate fat. (if you don't know what Paleo or Primal eating is, you should look into it).
This equals to right around 1,500 calories per day, which puts me in an approximately 800 - 1000 calorie per day deficit. I do not eat past 6:00 pm EVER (I go to bed at 10:00 pm). Every third day, I will throw in a starchy carb, such as some pasta, potatoes, wild rice, etc. to the dinner meal (look into "carb cycling"). For one meal, once per week, I eat whatever I want including pizza, a double bacon cheeseburger from Five Guys, nachos, ice cream, as some examples. Going into a once per week, one meal per week caloric excess, spurs the metabolism and is a good thing (this is not true for everyone, however, so be careful to not sabotage yourself).
I'm typing all this out because I want to illustrate just how detailed my diet is while on a cut and how it is that I am able to replicate, time after time, year after year, a two pound per week pure fat loss without sacrificing muscle. My commitment to this eating plan is perfect and I do not deviate. Long story short, because I am disciplined with this, I can track the efficacy or lack thereof of any supplement touted as a thermogenic.
So, for the last thirty days, I have added Liporidex Max to my cutting regimen. During the first week, there was no acceleration of fat loss. During the second and third week, I lost an additional 1 pound more than I otherwise would have. By the forth week, my fat loss was twice what it otherwise would have been -- 4 pounds per week.
Bottom line, it does work. Exactly how, I don't know. Three cheers for green coffee beans? The formula, itself? Dunno. Don't care. Liporidex did shift my metabolism towards even greater fat burning and I felt nothing like I did in the past when on any of the things that are now illegal, i.e. no racing heart rate, breaks from reality, wild emotional swings, shortness of breath, etc.
Some immutable truths to remember about losing weight in a sustainable manner, however, are:
1.) You MUST be in a caloric deficit to shed unwanted fat i.e. you must be burning more calories than you consume. This is not an opinion, its PHYSICS.
2.) Unless you are technically obese or morbidly so, it's not a good idea to shoot for more than 2 pounds per week of weight loss since doing so will entice your body into burning muscle tissue as well. It's not really "weight" you want to lose, after all, it's all the unnecessary fat stores.
3.) You HAVE to lift weights/do resistance training (for numerous reasons). Male, female, young, old, it does not matter.
4.) You CAN lose the fat and it DOES get mentally easier the further into it you get.
BIGGEST PROS OF LIPORIDEX:
-- Absolutely nukes the appetite (I actually had to force feed on numerous occasions just to get up to 1,500 calories per day)
-- Nice, calm focus
-- Works great as an ergogenic (work out performance enhancer) especially when fasted
-- No crash
-- Accelerates fat loss with no apparent sacrifice of muscle tissue (remember, though, my diet is dialed in. Were it not, *perhaps* Liporidex would entice muscle oxidation, too)
BIGGEST CONS OF LIPORIDEX:
-- God bless you if you can take 2 capsules at once or do 3 per day of these, but I tried it and it gave me the Crazies. Not increased-heart-rate-cracked-out-illegal-substance-twitchy Crazies, but head Crazies (like too much coffee). I even tried 1 before working out, 1 about an hour after working out and 1 around noon and was still feeling whacky. So, yup - I had the success I had with only 2 per day: 1 before working out and 1 at noon.
-- Even at 2 per day, I had occasional sleeping issues (getting to sleep, that is. Once I was out I was out).
-- Occasional abdominal discomfort.
-- It does work, but at $44.99 I feel it's significantly overpriced.
One Last Thing:
In my experience, there are three distinct groups of people as regards how they react to effective thermogenics:
1.) Responders: These are people whose metabolic rate is so greatly affected that they will lose fat on an effective thermogenic even if they don't exercise. In short, the thermogenic enables them to burn more calories than they otherwise would just doing their normal everyday routine. -- a pox on your house, Responders! ;)
2.) Semi-Responders: People whose metabolic rate, and therefore fat loss, is expedited by the thermogenic so long as they are exercising (in other words, were they not exercising the thermogenic would be a waste of money). I fall into this group.
3.) Non-Responders: People whose metabolic rate and therefore fat loss is in no way affected by the thermogenic regardless of its effectiveness for groups 1 and 2.
As I see it, you can do some expensive experimentation to determine which group you fall into; or, just assume yourself to be a semi-responder, bite the bullet, and get your butt in motion. Which is what you're eventually going to have to do anyway unless the idea of a horrible, protracted and painful death before your time from some dreadful disease appeals to you.
I never write reviews this lengthy and I do recommend the product as a supplement to a wisely devised diet and exercise program. -1 star to get the smart shoppers to read the review. ;)
